Principal's Message

Dear Jane Long Academy Students, Families, and Community,

It is an honor to serve as Principal of Jane Long Academy. Having served this community as Assistant Principal, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue our work together and lead a campus filled with talent, promise, and possibility.

With 14 years of experience in education, my journey has included serving as a classroom teacher, department chair, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Each role has shaped my belief that students thrive when caring adults pair high expectations with meaningful support. My background in psychology and school counseling also influences how I lead: relationships matter, every student’s story matters, and every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and challenged.

At Jane Long Academy, we want our students to become confident learners who think critically, communicate clearly, and apply their learning beyond the classroom. Through our STEM and medical pathways and our P-TECH opportunities in Pharmacy Technician and Allied Health, we help students connect today’s learning to tomorrow’s possibilities.

Our instructional priorities emphasize writing, listening and speaking, purposeful pacing, and teaching toward clear learning goals. For our students, this means more opportunities to explain their thinking, learn from one another, practice challenging skills, and demonstrate what they know. We will celebrate progress, respond when students need additional support, and keep academic achievement at the center of our work.

As a mother of four, I understand the trust families place in a school. I am committed to building a safe, welcoming environment where families are respected as partners and communication is open. I invite you to stay connected, ask questions, share your ideas, and take an active role in our school community.

Our motto, “RX for Performance,” reflects the purpose we bring each day. Together, we will build on Jane Long Academy’s strengths and create opportunities for every Longhorn to grow, achieve, and prepare for a successful future.
